Your first test call

Ask the customer to send one call to a number that should work, or send it yourself with a softphone (below).

Send a test call yourself with a softphone

Section titled “Send a test call yourself with a softphone”
  1. Find your office’s public IP address (search “what is my IP” in a browser).
  2. Add a test customer with that IP address, a routing group and a billing account, as on the Customers page.
  3. In a softphone that can call without registering (often called direct IP calling or no registration), dial the number as sip:NUMBER@SWITCH-ADDRESS, for example sip:2348012345678@ followed by the switch address we sent you.
  4. Remove the test customer when you are done, so that IP address cannot send calls on your switch later.
Check Where You should see
The ports are up Terminators registered next to each port
The call arrived Calls a new row with the customer’s name
It was routed the call → Routing tab the routing group, the sub-group and the port or carrier that took the call
It was answered the call → Call tab answered, with a talk time
It was priced the call → Call tab a sale and a cost from the right rate row
You can hear it the call → Recording tab a recording, if recording is on for that port and the recording was kept

Press Ctrl K and paste the dialled number to find the call quickly.

  • No row at all: the call never reached Routyx as this customer. Check the customer’s IP address.
  • A row that says refused by the switch: the row says why: unknown customer, no route, a number list, a limit.
  • Routed but failed: open the SIP tab. The answer code from the port or carrier says why. See Troubleshooting.
