Connect a GSM gateway

Panel page: Terminators (Ctrl K → terminators). The panel calls ports and carriers terminators; see the glossary.

In Routyx every SIM port is its own terminator. Each port logs in (registers) to the switch with its own user and password. That is what gives every port its own channel limit, its own statistics and its own on/off switch, and what lets an automation rule turn off one bad SIM without touching the others.

Routyx is tested with GoIP, Skyline, Dinstar and Ejoin gateways, and works with any gateway that can register a port as a SIP account.

  1. Open Terminators and press Add.
  2. Name: something you will recognise in reports, with the gateway and the port, for example gw1-p1, gw1-p2.
  3. Connection mode: Terminator registers.
  4. Press Generate to create a strong password.
  5. Save. Keep the page open; you need the user and password for the gateway.

Repeat for every port. On a gateway with many ports, add the first one, then use Duplicate and change the name.

On the gateway’s own web page, for each port (often called line or channel):

Gateway setting Value
SIP server / registrar / proxy the switch address we sent you
User / account / auth ID the terminator’s user from step 1
Password the generated password from step 1
Register on

The menu names differ between brands. Look for the per-line SIP settings, not the gateway’s single trunk setting.

Setting What it does
Channel limit How many calls this port may carry at once. A SIM port carries one call: set 1.
Maximum call time A call on this port is cut after this long. Stops a stuck call from holding a SIM all day.
Ring timeout How long the switch lets the port ring before it gives up and tries the next one.
Record Record calls on this port.
Online / offline Takes the port in or out of routing without deleting it.

Next: Add a SIP carrier, or skip to Routing groups.
